Hello!
Welcome back to everyone - we hope you had a great summer break. We’ve got a really fun term ahead and can’t wait to meet all of the new faces that have joined the Grasmere family. If you are a new parent, here’s a Welcome Letter just for you.
Before we share more about what’s coming up, we wanted to say a massive thank you to all parents and carers, volunteers, donors and sponsors: last year our charity raised over £26,000 for Grasmere Primary School. This is a phenomenal effort for such a small school, and we couldn’t have done it without your support and generosity.
FROGS’ 2026 AGM
Our AGM is coming up and it’s a great way to hear more about the work that we do. Everyone is welcome to come along, listen in and hear more about how you can get involved.
As well as discussing events, fundraising initiatives and ongoing projects (in the same way as other FROGS meetings), we have some more formal business to deal with at the AGM. This includes:
Electing this year’s committee. Please let us know before the meeting if you’re interested in getting involved - you can read more about what it means to be a committee member here. If you have any questions then please email us at chair@friendsofgrasmere.com.
Amending our constitution. You can see the proposed changes here.
You can find the draft agenda here. We look forward to seeing lots of you there!
GETTING INVOLVED
Beyond formal committee business, we’re always looking for volunteers to help out with events and fundraising efforts. There’s a huge range of different ways you can help out, from running a stall or baking a cake to organising events. Please speak to your class rep or contact us at chair@friendsofgrasmere.com if you would like to find out more.
If you are keen to help with event organisation, we have a great opportunity for you later this term! We are looking for a small group of organisers for this year’s winter fair. It’s quite straightforward to organise and comes with a full detailed “how to” guide. It’s a great way to get more involved in FROGS and to spread a bit of festive cheer. It would be perfect for a group of year 1 or year 2 parents, so please let us know if you would like to help out!
Even if you are only able to support by baking the odd cake or sorting jumble for the jumble sale, you will quickly realise there’s a lot to gain from getting involved! Here are 10 reasons to become an active member of our charity:
This Half term’s events
Looking forwards, all of our planned events for the year are listed in the calendar so you can make sure to keep yourselves free!
FROGS Welcome Garden Party
Our first event of the year is the FROGS welcome garden party. It will be an informal chance to catch up with other parents, meet new parents and learn a little bit more about what FROGS is all about. Please join us for some free pizza, marshmallows and soft drinks!
It should be a great way to kick off what is sure to be another great year!
Thank you and take care,
FROGS
