Welcome back, everyone! We hope you all had a great Easter holiday and are looking forward to jumping into the summer term together. It’s set to be a fun one, with warmer days, good company, and plenty of FROGS events for our children to enjoy.
Below is a recap of funds raised so far, how those funds are being used, and what we have coming up this term. Every contribution of time, energy, and support this year has gone directly into enriching the experience for all our children, and it’s been fantastic to see the whole community get behind it. Nearly every event so far has been a record breaker, and we’re excited to keep that momentum going.
Recent Events
Jumble Sale
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s jumble sale such a success. From baking and sorting to running stalls and tidying up, more than 60 parents gave their time across the weekend.
The event raised an incredible £1,929.18, making it our best result since Autumn 2024. It was such a fun morning and gave new life to countless pre-loved items — a win all around.
A special mention as well for the success of the “pay what you want” approach, which worked brilliantly thanks to the generosity and goodwill of everyone who took part.
And thank you to all who donated items and came along to shop and support — every contribution goes straight back into creating opportunities and experiences for all our children.
Year 2 Cake Sale
A big thank you to Year 2 families for a fantastic cake sale and for supplying such an impressive spread of treats!
Together, you raised £334 – well done!
Pub Quiz
Our annual Pub Quiz was another brilliant evening, with 10 teams battling it out for the title of 2026 Grasmere Quiz Champions and raising £438 along the way!
Congratulations to “Johnny’s Angels” for taking the top spot, closely followed by “Les Grenouilles” and “Cognitive Decline”. There were strong showings across the board (and a few very competitive spirits!).
A special mention to the children who contributed to the Kids’ Questions Round — a highlight of the night.
And a huge thank you to Paddy for organizing, Nicola, Firuze and (another!) Paddy for the delicious food, and to everyone who came along and made it such a fun evening.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter Egg Hunt brought loads of excitement (and chocolate!) to the school day. Huge thanks to Claire and Julie for organising such a joyful event for all the children — it was a real highlight to end the term.
Recent Projects
You may have seen that the FROGS-funded garden project is well underway and hopefully near completion! The new and improved space will elevate the garden area around it, making it more engaging for the children while preserving the natural forest feel they love.

The chart below has been updated from the previous newsletter to reflect funds earned from the most recent jumble sale, cake sale, and pub quiz, as well as donations and matched-giving efforts. You all did a brilliant job raising over £15,000 for our kids and community!
We’re speaking to the school about further spending ideas and will share more as soon as we can. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any ideas or suggestions!
FROGS Meeting Update
Our last meeting took place on 25th March — thank you to everyone who attended and contributed.
Key highlights included:
Strong fundraising this year, with over £15,000 raised since September
Ongoing discussions with the school around how best to allocate funds for maximum impact
Planning underway for summer events and future fundraising ideas
